Mountain Seed School - Camp-out!
Mountain Seed School is a 6-Day comprehensive course dedicated to the preservation of seed diversity through regional adaptation, seed stewarding, regional seed businesses, seed vaults, and backyard breeding. Camp at 8,000’ in the Wet Mountains of south-central Colorado, just north of the Sangre de Cristo’s and dive headlong into the magic and power of seeds. Bring your best gear and a head-lamp! We are a Dark Skies Community. Welcome to the mountain.
This Seed School features author and geneticist Carol Deppe, breeder Steve Peters and seed hunter Panayoti Kelaidis! Penn and Cord Parmenter are hosts, teachers and facilitators. Penn and Cord are proud RMSA Seed School and Seed School Teacher Training graduates.
The setting is their 43 acre ranch just north of the beautiful Wet Mountain Valley. Students can camp, bring campers or Rv's, or arrange to stay in nearby hotels. The Ranch provides 2 Wall Tents with cots and beds on a first come, first serve basis.
Students arrive on September 2nd by 4pm for introductions, dinner and our first campfire. Students graduate on Friday evening and leave Saturday the 8th of September.
