Italian Winter Tomato - unknown DTM - Colorado

This is a drying tomato - the kind you hang in your kitchen over the winter. Pull up the whole plant before the first fall frost and hang it upside down somewhere out of full sun in your house. Green tomatoes will ripen on the vine this way and ripe ones will hold a long time.

Thick skins and low juice make these perfect for long, winter storage. You could hang them in a root cellar too.

Start seeds indoor 4-8 weeks before the last frost. All tomatoes like warm soil and stable night-time temperatures before they are planted.
