Spotty Troutback Lettuce 50-60 days

Such a beauty! This lovely lettuce is being selected by my friend Ross at Vibrant Earth Seeds down in Cortez, Colorado. It's just as delicious as it is beautiful. This lettuce is adapted to the Four Corners area of Colorado. As with all lettuces, they prefer cool weather and are a great candidate for shade to partial shade growing. But no matter, it will grow at all elevations and is highly adaptable.

I think many vegetables are just as beautiful as flowers and together - they are simply stunning. I like to fill hanging baskets with lettuces like this and hang them in the trees to protect them from too much sun, hail and wind.

Direct seed no more than 1/4" deep and keep moist through germination. Another wonderful variety for the mountain garden!

Original seed from Vibrant Earth Seeds.
