Yerba Mansa - Anemopsis californica - Perennial
Sometimes called Lizard Tail, I stumbled across this in New Mexico last year. It was gorgeous in seed and it is equally gorgeous in flower. Aromatic, pollinator friendly and, of course, medicinal.
This plant grows a deep taproot and will fill in with runners when grown in the environment it likes. It likes an arid climate but also needs water to get properly established. Beautiful white flowers. The seed heads and leaves turn a burnished red in fall.
I found this plant in bottom land under big Cottonwoods. I was a little late in collecting the seed and only have a small batch.
Needs heat to germinate. Plant in flats or pots on a heat mat to germinate.
