Sulphur Flower Buckwheat - Eriogonum umbellatum var. majus - Perennial

This beautiful thing grows all around us and on this land we call home. This version has creamy white flowers, no leaves on the stem and a pretty little mat of grey-green leaves on the ground.

A wonderful rock garden plant, the form is tidy and neat, but explodes with creamy umbel flowers. Found in sunny areas, rocky ledges, pine forests, dry slopes, it's pretty adaptable. Very drought tolerant.

The seed heads become a beautiful rusty red color and they hold a long time.

Plant in fall or moist stratify for 30-90 days.

This plant often sports yellow flowers but the version on this land is creamy white.
