Torch Mexican Sunflower - Tithonia rotundifolia - 65-90 days - Annual

I've loved this flower for decades. It becomes an incredible display of soft, dark leaves smothered in the deepest orange 4" sunflower-like blooms. Pollinators love this thing.

It can grow 5-6' tall and branches out prolifically. Makes a wonderful cut flower. I've grown it in a half whisky barrel with great results. Makes a good bed end but does best in poor soil. Once established, it is quite drought tolerant.

Plant 1/4" deep after the last frost in spring or start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost.

Not a true sunflower.

Blow-your-mind-color.
