NEW FOR 2025!!
Dr. Wyche's - 75-85 days - Oklahoma - Indeterminate - Heirloom
I love a good story. Dr. Wyche lived in Oklahoma and grew this tomato using elephant manure as fertilizer. Legend has it that the circus over-wintered near him and that's how he got his hands on elephant poop. He also scattered lion and tiger poop to deter deer and rabbits!
My friend Kai loves this tomato. He grew it very successfully at 7,600' under a caterpillar tunnel. I grow long season tomatoes under cover or in a greenhouse at my elevation. This tomato is slightly sweet but rich flavored, juicy and is a perfect slicer due to dense meat.
This is a multi-purpose tomato - great fresh, cooked, canned, frozen and roasted. Can reach 1 lb - big ol' beefsteaks!
Start seeds indoors 4-8 weeks before the last frost.
