Purple De Milpa Tomatillos -

Physalis philadelphica

70-90 days from transplant

Tomatillos are easy to grow, prolific, beautiful and they can reseed themselves if you let them. The fruits and papery husks are purple and green, so beautiful int eh garden. I let them ramble and they are almost carefree. Drought tolerant.

Easier to grow than peppers or tomatoes and a staple for salsa, enchilada sauce and many Mexican dishes.

You can direct seed in warm climates or start seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost. Harden plants off before setting out in warm weather. Sow seeds lightly, press soil down gently.

Original seed from Vibrant Earth Seed
