Blaugrüner X Lilly's Leeks - 60-70 days
Allium porrum
Leeks can be direct seeded in April or May in most elevations or you can start them indoors 3 months before the last frost. Sow 1/2" deep and space them 6" apart. Leeks are amazingly hardy and so delicious.
This cross is from the tried and true Blaugrüner Leek with Lilly's Leek, a dedicated grower from the Boulder area.
Leeks also last a very long time in the refrigerator. This is a staple crop for every kitchen. They like cool weather, perfect for the mountains. Plant in full sun.
