Lemon Mint - Annual

Monarda citriodora

A delightful member of the mint family, I have loved this plant for many years. It grows easily in the cool mountains and can take full sun. It has the scent of citrus and is a beloved medicinal herb. Butterflies and hummingbirds adore it. Grows to 20".

Deep pink whorls stack themselves along the stem and just burst with color!

Seeds need light to germinate, sow on the surface. Sow in 70 degree soil in spring or start indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost.

Once established, they are quite drought tolerant.
