NEW FOR 2026!!

Cylindra Beet

Beta vulgaris

60 days

This beet makes me so happy since I can plant them closer than round beets. All parts of beets are edible and so good for you. Cylindra beets give you uniform slices, a delicate skin and a larger yield. Beet greens are full of nutrition - raw or cooked.

Plant them 1/2" deep and 1" apart. Beet seeds are capsules with many seeds inside. They will germinate in one place. You can transplant the tiny seedlings when the true leaves have grown, or thin them. I am not good at either of those chores and these beets will do better than most if you just leave them in place and harvest them as they mature, making room for their siblings to continue to grow.

Roast 'em, steam 'em, stir fry 'em, eat 'em.
