Easy-to-grow, easy-to-love, Sweet Alyssum lives up to its name with a wonderful fragrance that humans and pollinators alike will love. This is a perfect companion plant in the vegetable garden. It's wonderful in the flower garden too but since it is easy to grow from seed, we like to sprinkle seeds around the base of tall vegetables or in gaps.
This plant will fill in with soft mounds of tiny white flowers.
Bring in the bee's and other pollinators to help your vegetable yield with this plant.
Direct seed on the surface, seed needs light to germinate. Sprinkle it in place then gently press it in. You can also start them indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost date.
Blooms fade in the late summer heat, you can cut them back for a second bloom, or let them go to seed to collect or reseed themselves.
