Schimeigg Stoo means Striped Cavern in Manx Tom Wagner's maternal grandmother's language. Many years ago it was called T-1. Schimeigg Stoo is a hollow 'pepper' tomato - excellent for stuffing. It is striped - red with golden stripes. It does not seem to have deep flavor but it is loved for it's stuffing ability. I love it because I love Tom Wagner's work and I love unusual tomatoes. Having a stuffing tomato so unusual and pretty will grace your plate and tempt your friends to try something different. Oooh - I want some chicken salad - right now. Can and will get bigger than the picture.
