(aka Purple Russian) - 70 days - Ukraine - Indeterminate
What a cool tomato - and the color of the sauce will blow your mind. Prolific, big and juicy and ready to eat fresh or rock and roll in the pot. I really like this tomato - this is what I wrote while eating it: "Smokey and slightly sweet. Strong walled lovely purple pastes."
I will grow this again. Elongated 4-9 oz. purple plum tomatoes on wild and wispy vines. Heavy loads of a multi-purpose tomato makes this a great market tomato.
Amy Goldman wrote about Purple Russian in her book The Heirloom Tomato From Garden To Table
"A tomato worth living for."
Original seed from Baker Creek to Stately Farms in Cañon City Co to me.
