High Country - early - Montana

This elusive, luscious paste tomato has finally been restored to my memories of it from the early days. Offered by Bill McDorman way back when, (the 90's), it either changed, or got lost and I missed it terribly. I hunted it down through the Seed Saver's Exchange, (of course), securing original seed and grew it out this year. Oh my - such a beauty! The color is a feast for the eyes - dark, deep red, I described the flavor as 'luscious', it's prolific, and fast.

My notes also said juicy and when a 'roma' type tomato is juicy, it just means flavor and maybe cooking the sauce down for a few more minutes. It also means it's a good tomato for fresh eating so go ahead and make pico de gallo. 'Teardrop' shaped.

Ahhhhhh. I love restoring these long lost friends.

You'll love it too.
